Liv Hewson (born 29 November 1995) is an Australian actress and playwright. Hewson was born in Canberra and grew up in the suburb of Hughes. She attended Alfred Deakin High School and Canberra College. She began acting as part of the Canberra Youth Theatre. Her mother, Angela, is a public servant and her father, Tony, is a psychologist. Hewson has three brothers.[ Hewson's written work includes "lots of re-imaginings of fairytales and mythology with a queer and dark slant." At age 19, Hewson went to Los Angeles to attend an acting workshop. In 2016, she starred in the fantasy television show Dramaworld and the film Before I Fall. She was cast alongside Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant in the Netflix original series Santa Clarita Diet, which debuted in 2017. She has a role in the second series of Top of the Lake.
