Crystal Reed was born in Detroit, Michigan and began to study dance at an early age. She attended Dort Elementary School in Roseville, Michigan, Roseville Junior High and Roseville High School, where she was president of the school's drama club was the dance captain. She also took part in a local community theater and performed in musicals such as Annie and Grease. After graduating high school, Reed attended Wayne State University where she pursued fine arts, but left before finishing her bachelor's degree to move to Chicago where she performed in local plays and continued to take improv and theater classes at places like Second City, iO Chicago Theater and Act One Studios before she moved to Hollywood. Since the start of her career, Crystal Reed has made guest appearances on television shows such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000), Rizzoli & Isles (2010), and CSI: NY (2004). In 2010, Reed appeared in the film Skyline (2010), and in 2011 she landed a role in MTV's Teen Wolf (2011) along with co-stars Tyler Posey and Dylan O'Brien.

Crystal Marie Reed (born February 6, 1985) is an American actress. She is known for her role as Allison Argent in the 2011 MTV's show Teen Wolf as well as her role in the 2013 movie Crush with Lucas Till. Reed's film credits include Skyline opposite Donald Faison and Eric Balfour, and Crazy, Stupid, Love with Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Steve Carell and Julianne Moore. Reed has been in a relationship with presenter Darren McMullen since late 2013. Before dating Darren she dated her former co-star Daniel Sharman until mid 2013.

Crystal Marie Reed was born in Detroit, Michigan and was raised in Roseville, Michigan. She graduated from Roseville High School in 2003. She has one older brother named Corey and was raised in a conservative Catholic family, though she has also stated that she attended a Baptist church growing up. Reed studied dance from an early age and was dance captain in high school. While living in Detroit, she was an active member of her local community theatre and starred in the musicals Annie, Fiddler on the Roof and Grease. She attended Wayne State University and was a part of the Bachelor of Fine Arts program. She moved to Chicago and appeared in a number of local productions. In December 2008, she moved to Hollywood to pursue a screen career.
